Results of the working meeting in Ashgabat
On January 26, the Consul of the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkmenistan Oleksandr Honcharov (pictured left) and the Project manager “Ukraine – Turkmenistan”, Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum Ahmet Annayev (pictured right) met at the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkmenistan.
This year it is planned to continue the work of the VII Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum with the participation of potent delegation from Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan is one of the main partners of projects initiated at the forum sites. Thanks to the effective, strategically balanced policy of the President of Turkmenistan, Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the country is not only one of the leaders in Asia but is one of the legislators at the UN levelin the field of development of international cooperation in transport and logistics area and in establishing international transport corridors.
During the meeting it was discussed the importance of developing multifaceted cooperation between enterprises, organizations and institutions of Turkmenistan and Ukraine. Emphasis is placed on the need to deepen partnerships in the energy sector, where Turkmenistan rightfully occupies one of the leading positions in the world, the further development of the project of establishing a corridor of effective cooperation from the eastern shores of the Caspian Sea to the shores of the Baltic, initiated at the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum. In particular, it was noted that the development of partnerships and transport and logistics corridor to the Baltic coast is one of the planned tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan. During the continuation of the forum, it is also planned to discuss long-term plans for the development of cooperation in the field of higher education.
