Developing cooperation with Turkmenistan

Confidently occupying one of the leading positions among the Asian countries, Turkmenistan demonstrates effective external-economic steps, acting largely as a driver of international economic cooperation in the region. Due to the wise and timely decisions of the President of the country, Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is becoming one of the landmarks for development of international cooperation from the eastern shores of the Caspian Sea to the Baltic.

To support these strategically important decisions and actions, the continuation of the VII Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum is being prepared this year, with the participation of the powerful delegation from Turkmenistan.

Given the importance of the issues to be addressed, a distance meeting was held today (March 1) via live video connection Kherson-Ashgabat. During the meeting, with the involvement of the delegation representatives from Turkmenistan that will participate in the forum, they discussed a number of organizational issues and those related to the preliminary development of projects for further consideration thereof at the VII Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum. In addition to the development of cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, there were discussed the prospects for promoting collaborative actions in the energy sector and implementing the joint economic projects. It was emphasized on the importance of this work, also as a crucial segment of the implementation of the planned tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan during the 1st Caspian Economic Forum 2019 in Turkmenbashi, aimed at developing corridors of economic cooperation from the eastern Caspian coasts to the Baltic.
