The Way Towards Joint Educational Projects Of Lithuania And Ukraine
On June 23, an online meeting of administration representatives of Kherson State Maritime Academy and Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius took place. From the Ukrainian part, the meeting was attended by Rector of KSMA, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vasyl Cherniavskyi, Vice-Rector for Extracurricular Work Oleksandr Shumei, Director of Limited Liability Company “The Science Park of Kherson State Maritime Academy “Maritime Industry Innovations” Alena Leshchenko, Head of Office for International Cooperation of KSMA Alona Yurzhenko; from the Lithuanian part – Professor, Doctor Sniguole Matuliene, Dean of the Academy of Public Safety Danguole Senutiene, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Aurelia Puraite, Deputy Dean for Research of the Academy of Public Security.
It should be noted that Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius became the first higher education institution in the Republic of Lithuania to support the initiative for establishing "Silk Road" in higher education by joining the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum project on creating the corridor of effective cooperation. This event took place on December 14, 2017 at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine.
The conducted meeting provided an opportunity for the representatives of Kherson State Maritime Academy and Mykolas Romeris University in Vilnius to discuss issues related to deepening cooperation and implementation of joint educational projects between higher education institutions of Ukraine and Lithuania, which are to be discussed more substantively and in greater detail during the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum 2020, one of the co-organizers of which is Kherson State Maritime Academy.
The Ukrainian and Lithuanian partners paid special attention to participating in partnership projects and organizing cooperation between higher education institutions, which they represent. In particular they discussed the issues on holding joint scientific, scientific-practical conferences, seminars and symposia; creation of joint author teams for the development of monographs and textbooks; internship of academic and teaching staff, exchange of students within practice programs; introduction of double degree programs, etc.
The active preparation for the VII Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum is in progress.
