Noting the importance of the VII Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum to be hosted by Kherson (Ukraine) this year, Artūras Drungilas, Marketing and Corporate Affairs Director. Klaipėda State Seaport Authority, said in particular:

“A Port is no longer just a cargo handling and waterborne transport hub. From economic point of view, a port also refers to logistics, warehousing, construction and processing industry centre. From social point of view, it is a source of employment, a catalyst of tourism development. From cultural point of view, a port is a Maecenas, a place of maritime events and a source of inspiration.

Today we can be proud of cargo volumes and passenger traffic, which have continuously enjoyed the steady annual growth. The excellent results are not only today’s phenomenon. The ambitious vision of port expansion lays ahead us.

Being the gateway to the world we do not only seek to maintain our leadership in the Baltic Sea Region, but also to preserve our current business partnerships.  With the Ukraine partners we have numerous ongoing projects that clearly indicates the cooperation being fruitful. What is more, from our point of view this market has much more potrential and business possibilities. Our meeting at the sites of the Baltic-Black Sea Economic Forum is very important and relevant in the current circumstances. We need to discuss the possibility of enhancing cooperation in the Baltic with partners from Gdynia, Poland and with transport and logistics companies, as well as adjust plans with our partners in the project on establishing a corridor of effective cooperation from the Baltic to the Caspian coast of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan“ – mentioned Artūras Drungilas.
